Choosing where to stay in Ericeira

Stay in the town centre if you want cafes, restaurants and Praia do Sul on foot, and near Ribeira d'Ilhas or in Santo Isidoro if surf comes first and you are happy to cycle or drive into town. Ericeira is small, so nowhere on this list is more than a few minutes away.

Getting to and around Ericeira

Ericeira is around 45 minutes to an hour from Lisbon by car on the A8 and A21. Without a car, the Mafrense bus from Campo Grande in Lisbon takes roughly an hour, and from Lisbon airport you can take the metro to Campo Grande and pick up the bus there. There is no train to Ericeira.

The centre is easy to walk, and Ribeira d'Ilhas and Foz do Lizandro are a short cycle or drive away. If you stay outside the centre, a bike, scooter or car makes life much easier, and some colivings run shuttles to the surf.
